How it works

SaaS Bounties is a research project, not an open-source marketplace. Your code stays private. Here's exactly what happens when you participate.

1

Pick a bounty

Browse the Bounty Board. Each bounty is a detailed feature spec for a real SaaS category. Download the spec as markdown to feed directly to your AI agent.

2

Build with AI tools

Use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or any AI-assisted coding tool. Build a working implementation that meets the spec. Work at your own pace.

3

Submit privately

Upload your codebase and AI prompt history. Note the tools you used and hours spent. That's it.

Privacy boundary

Your source code and prompt history never cross this line. They are reviewed privately and never published.

4

Private review

We review your submission solely to verify it meets the bounty spec. This review is private — no one else sees your code.

5

Results published — not your code

Earned bounties, points, and leaderboard standing are published on the site. Your build hours contribute to aggregate stats on the homepage. Your source code and prompt history are never published.

Your code stays private

Submissions are never made public, never shared with third parties, and never used for any purpose beyond verifying the bounty spec is met.

You own everything

You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights to your code. Submitting does not transfer, license, or grant any rights to us.

Source code is never published

Your bounty results and points appear on the site, but your source code and prompt history are never published, shared, or made available to anyone outside the review process.

Common questions

Is this open source? Will my code be visible to others?
No. This is not an open-source project or code-sharing platform. Your submission is uploaded privately and reviewed by us using automated tools and manual review to verify the bounty spec is met. No one else sees your code.
Do I give up any rights to my code by submitting?
No. You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights. Submitting does not transfer, license, or grant any rights to us or anyone else.
What exactly gets published?
For bounties you earn, the name of the bounties, the points earned, and the date earned are published on the site. The hours you spent on the build are added to the aggregate build hours logged metric on the homepage. Your source code and prompt history are never published.
Who reviews my code?
The SaaS Bounties team reviews submissions privately using automated tools and manual review to verify that the implementation meets the bounty specification and add to aggregate statistics for research purposes.
